Commenced in the role of Asset Manager - NSW, with responsibility for all Engineering activities on 3,500+ coal wagons. Scope included commencing Asset Management practises in accordance with PAS 55 (ISO 55000). Significant improvements were achieved particularly with respect to the door reliability on the pneumatically controlled 100t wagons, reduction in train partings due to various drawgear issues, prevention of multiple fractured axle incidents due to a revised FMEA approach, reduction in out-of-course activities particularly associated with brake equipment overhauls, detection & monitoring of structural issues and implementation of solutions, design and introduction of a kwik-drop door condition monitoring system, etc.The above have been achieved through a revised approach to the root cause analysis methods, and condition analysis, and further engagement of the Maintenance team and Subcontractors, together with the support of my Engineering team.Circa March 2014, my role evolved. Achievements have included, but are not limited to, the determination of the root cause for multiple 'false' alarms on E-Class bearings (leading to a significant reduction of train stoppages), First Article analysis and improvements at the commencement of a major wagon-build contract, determining the probable cause of wheel cracking issues, and the ongoing investigation and remediation of structural issues across various classes of wagon.

Roles involved being Project Controller for the refurbishment of 762 passenger cars for Hong Kong's MTR Corporation. Responsibilities encompassed Customer liaison, Engineering, and Procurement, as well as support to Production. As Engineering Manager, was responsible for the successful design and delivery of limestone wagons, coal wagons, iron ore wagons, 48' well wagons, and aluminium grain wagons. As Tenders & Proposals Manager, was responsible for developing strategies and partnerships (customers & suppliers), as well as tender submissions, contract compliance, estimates, and the concepts for technical proposals. Was also involved with establishing UGL's relationships with freight businesses in China and India.

Involved in multiple projects including the initial design and build of the B5000 lightweight passenger car powered bogie, the refurbishment of London Underground's 'C' Stock passenger cars, and the prototyping of a new interior for London's Dockland Light Rail.
