Over 50 years in IT and business systems development, with 30 years of this in IT and business management consultancy.I am currently looking for part-time or project based freelance opportunities for working in a hybrid or remote location.IT experience covers most aspects of IT development including: data analysis, database design, business process analysis, development methodologies, web development, PC software development, mainframe systems, software testing, system security, system audit, project/programme management, software package selection via Invitations to Tender and formal solution/vendor assessments. Proven record of successful projects across many industry sectors (including pharmaceutical, finance/banking, contract catering, retail, utilities, information services and charities) for SMEs, major corporations and government departments - both in the UK and overseas. Some of the functional business areas I have successfully performed analysis on and/or implemented system solutions include: accounting, budgeting/financial planning, HR, time management, retail unit management, customer information systems, customer relations, sales, purchasing, insurance claims handling, large scale document management plus many others.Most recently, over 15 years of web MVC application development using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL. Built and sold an automated code generating tool (open source) for Joomla components and currently updating this for later of versions of Joomla but also code generation on other potential platforms such as WordPress, Laravel and PC applications. Have implemented multiple Joomla, WordPress and MediaWiki sites, as well as producing custom built sites for over 25 years.Adept at the development of automated tools using MS Access, Visual Basic and OLE (or other platforms) for the production of Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents of information held in multiple data base sources. As examples,enabling speedy/automated production of documentation for data /business process models. web site usage statistics analysis, survey results analysis etc.In addition to the IT and general business skills, I have extensive practical experience of financial planning and accounting. Owned and managed multiple limited companies plus experience in the charity sector as a trustee with multiple charities.Long standing personal, and sometimes professional, interest in environmental, sustainability and development issues including studies in all these areas for a Masters in Business and the Environment from Imperial College, London.
