As the IFC Director of Recruitment, I was responsible for planning, promoting, and administering Spring and Fall 2020 rounds of recruitment for all recognized fraternities at DU. I was the primary point of contact for each fraternity's VP of Recruitment, as well as chapter advisors, school administrators, and all students considering and/or participating in fraternity recruitment.When COVID-19 closed DU's campus in the Spring of 2020, I quickly adapted the recruitment format to accommodate each chapter's and potential new member's needs.I spent much of Summer 2020 communicating with school administrators -- including the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, COVID Coordinator, Head of our Health & Counseling Center, leaders in the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) office, leaders in the Office of Student Engagement, and members of the Undergraduate Student Government -- in order to make the Fall 2020 round of recruitment as safe and enjoyable as possible for all participants.

As a member of DUPB's 15-person Traditions Committee, I worked to conceptualize, market, and manage some of the largest recurring community-wide events DU has to offer. Along with Homecoming, my committee was responsible for our yearly 'Winter Carnival' and 'May Days' events. Winter Carnival is week-long and consists of large-scale on-campus events each weekday that 'concludes' on Friday with DUPB providing round-trip transportation for upwards of 1600 students to the nearby Keystone Ski Resort where discounted lift tickets/housing and daily on-mountain events await. During the process of planning these sets of high-budget events, I was responsible for drafting, negotiating, and finalizing service contracts with multiple third-party vendors to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible.

In 2016, Sewickley Academy's high school shifted their student-run governing body from a Student Council structure to a House Council structure. What's the difference? In a House Council, every student - regardless of grade - was a member of a particular 'House' (yes, like in Harry Potter) and elected four students to represent their House. The House system was implemented in an effort to make our high school more 'vertically integrated' such that student friend groups weren't as solely-reliant on what grade they were in (dubbed 'horizontal integration'), but could also be influenced by what House they were a member of. The House Council was responsible for collaborating with fellow students, school administrators, and third-party organizations to design and oversee various events and competitions in order to uphold school and House spirit alike. It was an honor to be elected by my classmates to represent them and be entrusted to help set the foundation for this new system, then to be re-elected the following year to uphold the precedent that had been set.
