Brian currently provides legal counsel and organizational and management development services to private and public organizations. Brian served as the Deputy Pubic Counsel at the Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) where he lead the state agency from inception to fulfill its mission to advocate on behalf of the injured employees of Texas. He previously served as Assistant General Counsel at the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers'​ Compensation where he worked on the legislation to create OIEC and the reform of workers'​ compensation system. Prior to his experience in workers'​ compensation, Brian served as an attorney at the Texas Department of Insurance's Financial Counsel Section where he assisted in mergers, acquisitions, and receiverships of insurance carriers as well as many other health law, insurance, and regulatory matters.After attending the University of Texas at Austin where Brian received honors degrees in both Public Relations and Sociology, Brian received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law where he also received his certification to become a mediator. Brian is currently seeking his Executive Master's Degree of Public Leadership at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.Brian currently serves on the Board of Directors for the First National Bank of Moody, Texas; is a Public Policy Fellow at The University of Texas School of Law Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution; is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and completed the Human Resource Management Program at the University of Texas at Austin; Chair for the Midsize Agency Coordinating Council; Advising Board Member of the Phi Delta Theta; and a volunteer for the Helping Hand Home.
