Petrotech was an integrated team that went across Data Management, Information Technology (IT), Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysics, and Engineering.Identified a savings of $𝟭 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 with the removal of redundant software; and negotiated with outside vendors to provide free training to Geoscientists and Engineers which allowed us to achieve over $𝟮𝟱𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀.Mentored the geoscience summer students and developed courses that would allow them to be more successful as they worked on summer projects that were chosen for Repsol to look at possible new assets or zones of interest.

Expanded the use of gather conditioning, AVO, seismic inversion, and microseismic in the Canadian business unit to identify sweet spots, understand production drivers, reduce risk, and keep within the zone of interest, and increase the production in horizontal wells. Mentored two summer students over subsequent summers to work on the Eagle Ford and developed fairway mapping to identify possible areas to focus on for production.

Taught international courses on the use of geoscience to identify potential depositional environments incorporating geology, geophysics, petrophysics, rock physics, and interpretation to properly evaluate risks and rank the drilling of wells. Designed programs to teach rock properties.

Facilitated courses for Houston Community College - Petroleum Engineering Technology in Data Management and Deep-Water Exploration. The courses were multidisciplinary (geology, geophysics, petrophysics, and engineering) and focused on an integrated approach.

Involved with deep water processing using innovative and creative workflows to improve the quality of the data including SRME, noise attenuation, multiple removal, deconvolution, etc. Worked on trying new ways to implement multiple and noise removals, regularizing the data, implementing Kirchhoff Prestack Time Migration, and conditioned gathers for AVO analysis. Prepared the final reports for different projects so that the final 10% of the project could be billed out. 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 $𝟱𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬.

Processed seismic data for the asset teams focusing on potential prospects. Vastar was one of the early subscribers of Kirchhoff Prestack Time Migration (PSTM) and implemented new technologies developed in the ARCO lab for gather conditioning. This allowed Vastar to achieve flatter gathers to higher angles of incidences, uplifting the seismic data and illuminating AVO anomalies. The goal was to de-risk and facilitate the ranking of drill locations.
