Brian Williams of Martinsville, Virginia has a background in wildlife biology,fisheries, construction, timber,animal husbandry including breeding fish and reptiles, as well as in conservation, education and wildlife preservation. Throughout his career he has presented to thousands of school age children and adults on a wide variety of topics including conservation, reptiles and amphibians, caving, diving. He been a guest on radio and Television programs and at various conferences and workshops. Brian has been involved with a number of conservation organizations working toward the preservation and promotion of our water resources including rivers, lakes and springs. As a certified cave diver he has worked on various underwater cave survey projects providing data to local and state as well as non profit organizations. He has helped on projects restoring Florida's springs and sinkholes. Brian has lead hundreds of guided cave trips for novices, youth groups, scouts, media as well as experienced cavers and divers. Brian was the first person in Florida to be sanctioned by the Girl Scouts of America to lead caving trips for groups. Brian has worked with state and local government on conservation and restoration and has authored numerous articles on reptile care, fish production, and caving. He helped establish one of the largest single Trout in the Classroom Programs in the country in Henry County Virginia. This program has reached over 10,000 school students in the past 7 years.Currently, as the Program Manager for the Dan River Basin Association, Brian works on conservation, restoration and education projects with local and state governments and private organizations throughout the southeast. He has authored numerous papers on subjects including; herpetology, fish production, cave exploration, recreation opportunities on local rivers and streams and the award-wining Trout in the Classroom Program in Southwest Virginia
