As a preschool assistant teacher, I work with 3-4 year olds on a part time basis within the Minier Center of the YMCA. In my role, I assist the teachers with the daily activities and serve as the sole teacher in the afternoons.

As an intern in the First Year Programs office, I am working alongside professional staff and student staff to facilitate over 30 different summer orientation programs. I work with Freshman, Transfer, Parent, and International Orientation Programs which will bring in over 6,700 students and 3,500 parents this summer.Duties include:• Coordinate programming and develop training for Orientation and Dawg Daze welcome events.• Collaborate with First Year Programs staff for 14 freshman sessions (320 students each session), 18 transfer sessions (80 students each session), and 14 parent & family orientation programs (150 parents each session) for a total of over 6,700 incoming students.• Assisting with class registrations and being the lead liaison for summer orientation registration labs of 100 students each session.• Create and implement a new Veterans program event for Dawg Daze in collaboration with Veterans Center staff and FYP staff including budget management.• Construct a one day, online training course for 70 student leaders to prepare them for the international student orientation program using Canvas.• Participate with and facilitate other First Year Programs and Dawg Daze events as needed with First Year Programs professional staff members.
