Brian is a civil litigator with a focus on estate litigation, immigration litigation and debtor/creditor remedies. His primary interests include assisting individuals and family members with wills variations claims, removing and replacing executors, and making applications for probate or letters of administration. Brian also helps individuals and family members with appeals to the Immigration Appeals Division or with judicial reviews at the Federal Court of Canada. In his legal career thus far, Brian has regularly appeared in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. Additionally, he has represented clients at the Human Rights Tribunal of BC, the Residential Tenancy Branch of BC, the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal, and also worked at Worksafe BC, the BC Securities Commission, and at the Department of Justice in Ottawa. Brian brings a varied and diverse wealth of experience to his work, from a career in music, serving on several boards of LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS community organizations and non-profits, sitting on strata councils, acting as a director consultant of Business Networking International, to holding several leadership positions within the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch, where he is currently representing the immigration section on Provincial Council. Outside of work, Brian is a competitive bodybuilder, he loves to eat, read, and travel, and Brian has a Boston Terrier puppy named Mocha. Brian is also an advocate for LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS issues, and active on several national executive committees in these areas. Brian is a 4th generation Canadian whose parents came from Macau and Hong Kong. He was born and raised in Vancouver. Brian is able to communicate fluently in English and Cantonese, and is conversant in Mandarin.
