Stories included features, blogs, game recaps and news stories among others and covered a wide range of sports from NFL and NBA stories to esports and gambling. Collaborated with audience engagement editors to ensure that all stories on the front page of ESPN.com have gone through the copy desk and all headlines and captions on stories and videos have been edited. Composed overnight note to morning editors informing them of everything that has been edited, pending items and recommended stories for the next day.

Covered the NHL through reporting from Los Angeles Kings home games. Interviewing players and coaches after games and writing stories for weekly online newsletter.

Reported across multiple platforms including online, radio and television. Focused on sports including stories about the Los Angeles Dodgers' Accelerator Program, the future of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Olympic athletes training in Southern California.

I monitored trending content through team sites and Twitter for 5 MLB teams. Based on this content I wrote 2-3 articles daily for each of these teams. I also curated a daily email newsletter for each of these teams, consisting of at least 5 stories, which was sent out to subscribers and included headlines, photos and short summaries of the articles. I also produced weekly photo galleries for these teams consisting of 7-10 slides.

I wrote articles for Pasadena magazine, Dodgers on Deck and Trendsetters Worldwide. Stories were mostly about football and baseball, in particularly about the Los Angeles Dodgers, youth football and concussions in football.

I engaged in data collection, management and analysis as well as provided literature reviews on a variety of projects. These projects explored networks among businesses, hiring practices of Major League Baseball teams and associations among actors, directors and writers in the entertainment industry.

I provided analysis for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to enhance revenue cycle efficiency. Through analysis of underpaid claims, causes of denials were assessed in order to help prepare multimillion dollar cases for arbitration.

My primary responsibility was fact-checking magazine articles. Fact-checking was done through speaking with sources of quotes and information as well as through web searches. I also drafted tweets to promote magazine articles posted to the web as well as daily web-exclusive articles.Another responsibility was searching through the websites of local venues and making phone calls in order to compile a list of about 20 events for a weekly newsletter and 200 events for the magazine's Calendar section. I wrote descriptions of the events and formatted time, place and contact details according to the magazine's style.Beyond my editorial responsibilities I wrote articles for the magazine website, including stories about the Rose Bowl, concussions in football and a Q&A with Dodgers broadcaster and 2014 Rose Parade Grand Marshall Vin Scully.

Daily activities included:- providing academic support in Freshman English classes- making phone calls in English and Spanish to the parents of absent students- serving as a tutor and mentor to students seeking help at the end of each school day I also collaborated with my fellow corps members, team leaders, and program manager throughout the year on various initiatives to improve student attendance, behavior, and course performance as well as other school-improvement activities approved by the administration. As a writer for the Sports Department of the Daily Sun, I wrote game previews, recaps, and other stories about the Cornell field hockey and wrestling teams. Among the highlights of my tenure at the Sun was being in Philadelphia covering the wrestling team at the NCAA National Championships when Kyle Dake won the second of his record four national titles.I also contributed a biweekly column entitled "Out of Left Field" in which I discussed issues in the world of sports and their intersections with the politics and culture of the time. I was responsible for addressing student requests including but not limited to mail, dry cleaning, and dorm keys. I also fielded phone calls regarding the aforementioned inquiries. As a supervisor, I acted as a liaison between student staff and full-time staff.

As an intern with the Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution, I assisted the Communications team in multiple aspects of their work. My daily routine included assembling a daily clips bulletin comprised of stories from news outlets which mentioned the research of scholars from Brookings Metro. In preparation for upcoming research to be released by these scholars, I created, organized, and updated lists of relevant media contacts for outreach purposes. I also edited, proofread, and wrote media memos. I worked closely with demographics expert William Frey in order to keep reporters abreast of the most up-to-date analysis of the results of the 2010 census. One of the most important memos I produced while working with Frey was one written in Spanish to Univision informing the network of the rapidly-growing Latino population. Other responsibilities included fielding phone calls from members of the media scheduling appointments for them to speak with resident scholars. I also supported the entire communications team by participating in meetings and helping to plan and organize events and conferences.
