Brian engineered and designed a heat recovery system for the Lyons High School South Campus that utilized modular chiller for heat recovery to dehumidify their new indoor swimming pool. This project won an Excellence in Engineering award from the Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE.Brian wrote a ductwork and piping design package for AutoCAD in visual basic. This package enables the office to engineer ductwork and piping right in the computer. This is what Building Information Modeling is all about.Brian is a noted authority in the design of energy efficient buildings. Some of his engineering has won awards from ASHRAE for their energy efficient design. Many of his and the firms energy efficient designs predate the "Green" building movement. Brian has lectured on and written about Energy Efficient design. Brian has also consulted extensively on building problems.He is responsible for setting office standards and policies.

Engineered the first Lincoln-Way high school project which included converting the existing East Campus from electric heat to gas heat. this project also included a natural gas engine cogeneration system with heat recovery. This project won an Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE Energy Award and received honorable mention at the state level. Brian wrote the cover story for Heating Piping Magazine in August 1996 which decribed the features and energy savings of this project.Authored the article to the July 1997 issue of Heating/Piping/Air Conditioning Magazine titled "Fast Track School Construction".Engineered and Designed a central chilled water system for Hinsdale Central and South High Schools that consisted of natural gas fired engine driven chillers. This allowed the school district to cool their buildings without high electrical demand charges. The district purchased and stored their own natural gas and in some years the gas used in the chillers was gas that was not used in the winter.Responsible for setting office Computer Standards and policies.

Completed heating and air conditioning load calculations according to ASHRAE Fundamentals. Calculated duct and piping pressure losses for sizing of fans and pumps. Sized piping and ductwork. Engineered and Designed clean room air handling systems. Designed chilled and hot water central plants and pumping systems. Engineered fire pump systems.

Hand drafted Architectural Backgrounds, inked title blocks and schedules. Designed Ductwork and Piping for HVAC systems. Completed duct and pump pressure calculations for sizing of fans and pumps.
