Tortillaville first started in June 2009 opposite the Hudson, NY train station. It then moved into the center of Hudson City at 347 Warren Street, between third and fourth streets. Designer / Consultant:Stewart House May 2003 - May 2004I was part of a two person team that redesigned the failing Stewart House B&B, restaurant, bar to a 3.5 star review (in less than a year). See case study at www.brianbranigan.com/stewarthouse. We redesigned the interior, hired staff, created a menu, and did all of the design work, including; branding and a website. Our efforts brought back people that had sworn the place off, opened an outdoor bar that had not been previously open, and earned our way to a 3 1/2 star review by the Albany Times Union. One dish that we introduced, (that Allison created) went on to win best plate of the year. My contacts in the film industry brought the establishment to the attention of Steven Speilberg. A major scene for War Of The Worlds was shot right in front of the building. After that, the owner severed our contract and took the credit. But, that's how we want it - for the establishment to shine, not us. The next project will always be there. Our standards are high and our efforts know no limits.

Union Grip And Camera Crane OperatorTechnocrane Jan 1980 - Feb 1998After 15 years as a grip, and key grip, I wanted to specialize in the film industry. I became one of only five worldwide operators of a telescoping camera crane known as the Technocrane. This equipment went on to win an Academy Award for technical achievement. I worked in Hollywood for a few years and then brought the first Technocrane to be based in NYC in 1995. I left the film industry in 1998. The films that I worked on include: Ransom, Donnie Brasco, Meet Joe Black, As Good As It Gets and Meet The Parents to name a few. My years in the film industry are memorable and many.

I had the opportunity to work at Outward Bound in between films, took advantage of every minute, and then some. My years at OB were, I think, very unique and special because of the founder, Peter Willauer, being present, along with an incredibly interesting group of instructors. I learned much. I was an assistant instructor working out of Hurricane Island, ME in the summer and Big Pine Key, FL in the winter.

Field 5 LifeguardJones Beach State Park May 1976 - Sep 1980Jones Beach, LiAnother great experience in my life was that of a Jones Beach State Park ocean lifeguard. Great fun, Great friendships, Great memories. I was involved in many rescues at the beach, and look back to it with fondness. I worked the beach during the daytime, and bar tended in one of the premier LI music clubs, My Father's Place, in Roslyn, NY at night. A highlight year was my first, 1976. It was then that I somehow commandeered the sailing vessel, Kazu Maru, a 46' gaff rigged sloop circa 1906. I lived on the boat during that Summer in an inlet at Jones Beach.
