Brian Hoff is currently teaching with KIPP NYC as the eighth-grade math and Algebra I teacher at KIPP All Middle School. Since joining KIPP in 2019, he has advised regional leadership on the scope and sequence of curriculum, written curriculum, adapted a network-wide math tournament to an online platform, facilitated anti-racism workgroups, and co-chaired his grade-level team. During the height of remote learning, Brian found success with the highest student engagement rate for sixth-grade math in the KIPP NYC region. Previously, Brian worked as a strategy associate at 100Kin10 to address the challenges at the heart of the STEM teacher shortage. His work sought to create spaces that welcome and retain diverse, knowledgeable, and effective teachers into STEM classrooms in order for students to manifest the skills necessary to succeed in tomorrow's economy.Brian has experience working with schools from multiple perspectives. As a teacher in Dallas, Texas, Brian led grade-level and content teams. Outside of the classroom, Brian facilitated teacher workshops with Teach For America and advocated for youth rights with the ACLU of Texas. In 2014, Brian worked with Tuscaloosa City Schools to create a PR campaign focused on educating and exciting families about the school system's wellness plan. After a successful test-launch, the campaign was adopted and implemented district-wide during the 2014-2015 school year.Brian graduated with his M.Ed. from Southern Methodist University in 2016, where he produced a literature review on the anxiety gifted and talented students experience. In 2014, Brian graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Communication from the University of Alabama with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Philosophy of Law. Brian is also a proud graduate of the Dallas Comedy House Training Center.
