* Collaborate with internal clients to understand business problems and determine how to translate these problems into questions that can be answered with data * Program statistical and machine learning models to perform diagnostic and predictive modeling, including linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosted trees (R) * Communicate key analytical findings using data visualization and data storytelling (R, Tableau) * Develop queries and workflows to join, clean, and summarize data in a consistent and repeatable manner (SQL, R, Tableau Prep) * Build online dashboards to track historical trends and progress against goals on key metrics, such as deans’ annual goals and institutional diversity metrics (Tableau) * Simulate external rankings to understand the university's placement, conduct sensitivity analysis of ranking inputs, and model what-if scenarios for future rankings (R) * Create interactive charts and dashboards to provide institutional data to stakeholders in curated formats that support self-service analysis (Tableau) * Support overall university analytics efforts both formally, as a member of the Analytics Center Committee, and informally, by sharing knowledge and serving as a resource for other university analysts

* Synthesize data from multiple internal systems segregated both by subject area and time to create usable information to support executive decision-making * Liaise with Data Administration unit to ensure that data in university datastores meets reporting and data quality standards, and work with IT to implement and test data enhancements * Compile data from external sources to perform peer analysis across common benchmarks * Support responsibility center budget process by compiling university-wide allocated cost drivers and by serving as functional expert on selected budget line items

* Solicit functional user requirements through multiple forums: individual interviews, group interviews, interactive user groups, or ad hoc requests * Document and prioritize functional user requirements to inform data warehouse and reporting environment development * Liaise between functional users and technical resources throughout the development lifecycle to clarify requirements and conduct user acceptance testing * Implement and maintain metadata dictionary for business intelligence reporting environment * Document data standards and develop data audits to ensure that enterprise data conforms to agreed upon standards

* Coordinate with other data analysts to complete numerous recurring and ad hoc information requests from both external and internal clients, such as federal compliance surveys, university and program accreditation reports, guidebook and ranking publications, departmental self-studies, and grant proposals

* Provide reporting and analysis of HR data to Human Resources staff, Finance team, and executive leadership * Negotiate benefit plan renewals; provide data and analysis to support renewal decisions * Oversee day-to-day operations of benefits function and employee data processing; ensure compliance and data integrity

* Maintain HRIS data integrity, reviewing daily processing and writing audit reports * Design and implement changes within HRIS to reflect changes in company organization, compensation strategy, and benefit plan offerings * Write and revise reports to meet new regulatory requirements and increase compliance reporting efficiency * Provide ad hoc reporting for HR team

* Administer employee benefits and process employee transactions
