My legal practice at Latham & Watkins focuses on civil and criminal tax litigation and controversies. I litigate complex tax cases in the U.S. Tax Court, the Court of Federal Claims, federal district and state courts. I also represent taxpayers in IRS audits, administrative claims, IRS Appeals and criminal investigations.My litigation and controversy practice extends to all areas of federal and state taxation, with an emphasis on disputes involving sophisticated corporate transactions, transfer pricing, oil and gas, international tax, enterprise and asset valuations, partnerships, virtual and cryptocurrency (Bitcoin), tax shelters and promoter penalty defense. I also advise clients regarding Bank Secrecy Act compliance, information reporting, employment tax and executive compensation, worker classification, and retirement and pension plans.
