Since my role started I've assisted in creating the company's training material, process flows, risk assessments, opportunity development, marketing activities and various other integral parts required to create and develop a new business.

As the owner of KBN Reptiles I planned, set up and managed the retail outlet for 2 years. Turnover reached £125,000 in first year of trading. Some key responsibilities included supplier negotiations, shop and stock management, staff management, hiring and appraisals, online marketing and financial management. Three key areas of experience gained include:Business Planning: Market research, financial forecasting, obtaining relevant licenses, agreeing lease terms, negotiating with suppliers, competitor analysis and funding acquisition. Business Management: Marketing (online, traditional and PR), staff performance management, hiring and appraisals, HR duties, KPI setting, CRM system management, EPoS stock control, process improvement and marketing activities implementation. Financial Management: Book keeping and Payroll (using SagePay), VAT registration, profit and loss and balance sheet management, gross profit margin setting, budget setting and financial analysis (analysis of process improvement and marketing activities from a financial and profitability/ROI point of view).
