Developed and maintained server-side Java/J2EE applications for company's search engine. Provided direct input to project plans and schedules, interfaced with internal customers to gather requirements, and managed problem ticket queue for Search System-related applications. Acted as main Development point-of-contact for Operations and Support groups.Selected from a pool of applicants for a nine-month joint venture between LexisNexis and Sinclair Community College to update Java/J2EE/JDBC skills.Played key role in conversion of legacy search normalization system to WebSphere-based app servers (EJBs), which support over nine million requests a day. The new Java applications allowed the addition of new features, including native-language search support, dramatically expanding search engine's global scope.Led development effort to convert WebSphere-based search normalization applications to stand-alone Java Servers which leveraged newer technology (e.g., Java 6), improved performance, and reduced overhead.

Developed and maintained search service applications. Provided input to project plans and schedules, interfaced with internal customers and external data vendors to gather requirements, and designed and implemented primarily C++ client/server applications.Developed portions of a new proprietary API for use by all newly developed C++ applications supporting search, retrieval, and entitlements systems. This API allowed for rapid, consistent development of new middleware applications, speeding the replacement of legacy IBM-Assembler systems.Designed and developed conversion of legacy Shepard's Citation service to a C++ and Oracle SQL-based Solaris application. Addition of features, including "good law" Signal, increased usage of Shepard's Citator service by more than 100%.Led effort to create new Unix-based C++ Gateway applications to third-party data vendors, such as Dun & Bradstreet. Unique design approach allowed for rapid development of additional Gateway applications, such as InvesText, and IHI, bringing additional revenue to LexisNexis and breadth of service offerings to customers.

Developed and maintained online system search and retrieval applications. Assisted in design of major system components, and responsible for implementation and maintenance of Pascal and IBM Assembler mainframe applications.Enhanced and maintained the online hardcopy print system, including a major feature set enhancement, allowing customers to print documents in original source formats. Increased print usage by over 20%.Initiated and developed a user interface which allowed customers to view printer/job status and improved management of printer restarts. Designed, developed, and maintained the EDGAR document search and retrieval system for exclusive use by the SEC.
