The team is responsible for all new system installations and deployments, disaster recover, software/hardware upgrades, regular system/network maintenance, and 24x7 system monitoring with 99.9%+ system uptime. The team works closely with Engineering and Customer Service in designing, developing, and supporting all aspects of the network and proprietary applications. The team is 3rd level support, between customer service and Engineering. Tasks include problem research and investigation, troubleshooting and root cause system analysis on a 24x7 basis. Annual transaction volume is 250 million transactions. Managed an annual operating budget of $3M.

The system is a high volume, highly scalable transaction engine and web application using a three-tier architecture (Sun/Unix, C++/COM/DCOM, MS ASP/HTML). It has both a Web/HTML and a WAP based UI. Development is split between Newport Beach, San Diego, Colorado and India. As well as engineering and product development, responsibilities also included all IS and internal infrastructure support and technology.

Responsible for the entire engineering of Monitoring Automation Systems. MAS provides security monitoring software to security firms, call response centers, financial institutions, utilities and public agencies. Responsible for product definition, product marketing, engineering and deployment of next generation products and new initiatives. This includes web access to MAS software which handles the real time communication between the web and our MAS monitoring software. This product allows for real-time, remote dealer access to customer data, history, and current status of monitored system. This project will also allow subscriber access to account information and ability to handle online bill payment plus other e-commerce transactions that the service provider wishes. Also included is remote access to hand held devices allowing service technicians in the field to be able to access account, system information and diagnostics in real time.

Managed product development of the FraudWatch Pro product family (a cellular fraud profiling system), the Intelligent Message Router (IMR) product family (a network mediation middleware) and the Prepay Billing System. FraudWatch Pro is the next generation of fraud profiling systems. Managed the development teams located in Irvine (engineers, QA, Technical Documentation), Orlando (engineers) and Dallas (engineers). Was instrumental in the successful completion of a trial and selection as the fraud control product at BellSouth Cellular Corporation as well as telcos in Canada and Malaysia. The IMR is a telecommunications mediation middleware, responsible for the collection, formatting, and forwarding of call detail records from a network switch (or other network element) to any down stream application (like a billing system). Designed and prototyped the next generation IMR UI to be a web based GUI to allow system administrators to quickly, easily and graphically manipulate and manage their network. Successfully defined, architected, implemented and staffed the migration of the Prepay Billing application from the prototype team into product development.Responsible for all aspects of product development including management of software development, quality assurance, software configuration, documentation and training. Development for all new products was UNIX based, written in C, with a Motif, NT or PowerBuilder GUI client. The back-end server was Oracle or Sybase. Worked closely with Product Marketing, Sales and Operations in defining the product strategy, content, revenue plans and for implementing and training the pre/post sales support team. Negotiated and coordinated third-party relationships with SUN, HP, Sybase and Oracle. During this time defined, created and implemented a full Product Development Life Cycle for software products. This life cycle defined the entire "cradle to grave" phases and activities for Subscriber software products.

Responsibility for all aspects of Visual Recall and TabWorks product family development and delivery in Palo Alto (software developers, QA engineers and technical documentation writers) and San Diego (software developers). Visual Recall is a Document Management product for the PC, Microsoft Windows, and Novell Networking environment. It is both a workgroup and enterprise wide client server document management application and highly leverages off of leading edge technology from Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). Was responsible for the implementation and coordination of technology transfer between research and product development.
