Studied the role of small molecule-sensing by microbial pathogens in the context of infection. Specifically, I studied the sensing of D-serine, the stereoisomer of L-serine, by uropathogenic Escherichia coli in the context of mammalian urinary tract infections.Developed pathogen-specific microarrays for UPEC using Nimblegen technology.Developed wiki and BLAST servers for laboratory collaborations.
