• Served as chief Capitol Hill lobbyist for health policy representing 3,069 county governments in their diverse roles as payers, providers and administrators of health services and stewards of local taxpayers.• Coordinated health advocacy agenda, representing counties before Congress and the Administration on Medicaid/CHIP, behavioral health (mental health and substance abuse), public health, long-term care and intersection of justice and health.• Staffed Health Policy Steering Committee, consisting of 100 elected and appointed local officials, leading monthly calls, legislative updates and grassroots engagement and planning content for conferences. • Wrote comments on proposed regulations, policy briefs, blog posts, newsletter articles, legislative presentations and spoke at meetings.

Office of the Director (Associate Director for Policy) • Supported Office of the U.S. Surgeon General and senior HHS officials in implementing preventive health provisions in the Affordable Care Act, including the first National Prevention Strategy.• Staffed the National Prevention Council, comprised of leaders from 20 federal departments, and the Presidentially-appointed Prevention Advisory Group and managed projects with associations representing state and local health officials.• Co-wrote reports to Congress and implementation plan for working across sectors to improve health outcomes.

National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity)• Provided policy guidance to scientists, conducted literature reviews and helped develop surveys and research projects on healthy eating and active living in support of the First Lady's Let's Move priorities.• Co-authored peer reviewed journal articles in the "Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics" and "Advances in Nutrition."

• Based at the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (administratively housed under UAMS), wrote issue briefs and analyzed local, state and federal policies for national childhood obesity prevention initiative funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

• Coordinated Phase II and III Multiple Myeloma clinical trials, conducted patient interviews, analyzed study data and wrote reports.

• Managed Medicaid waiver community-based supports for 38 children and adults with disabilities and supervised direct care staff.• Promoted to salaried Case Manager/Supervisor after working part-time as Supportive Living Companion during college.
