About Brian Zhou
I graduated from Harvard College in May 2024 summa cum laude in Social Anthropology, with a secondary in Global Health/Health Policy. I am broadly interested in global mental health, medical anthropology, implementation science, community psychiatry, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. My guiding purpose is to learn and practice a human-centered philosophy of care, which I hope to embody as a psychiatrist, health advocate, and researcher. My research examines sociocultural models of mental health conditions and community-based, structurally-competent counseling interventions. This year, I have the privilege of embarking on the Henry Russel Shaw travel fellowship to explore the intersection of mental health with spirituality and quests for meaning. In my free time, you can find me hiking, taking photos, reading novels, meditating, and rock climbing!
