I worked at South Shore Golf Course in Hamburg, NY as part of the workforce development program located at ECC One Stop Center on Abbott Road towards Orchard Park. As part of my commitment, I maintained the golf carts by making sure that they were fully charged or gassed up and making sure all carts had enough oil and were washed daily - ready to go for the next available customer to use them in the golf course. I also assisted my customers by helping them with their golf bags by putting them on an available golf cart and sometimes off their cart and back into their cars.Aside from working at the golf course, I was trained how to successfully apply for jobs, what to expect before, during and after an interview, and how to dress appropriately for an interview, while being able to create my first resume. By the end of the summer, I successfully achieved my certificate of completion of the Workforce Development Curriculum and obtained my National Readiness Credential.
