At Brijot Imaging Systems I took a government “proof in concept” idea, created a plan and garnered the funding to deliver the first full-motion, concealed weapons detection camera system.Acquired an RF technology license agreement for technology transfer with Lockheed Martin Corporation’s Missiles and Fire Control Business Unit. Created the complete concept for the technology use and developed the business plan. Personally fulfilled all aspects and functions of Engineering Vice President and Chief Technology Officer working with such defense giants as Northrop Grumman Corporation, The Boeing Company, TRW Incorporated, Raytheon Company and Lockheed Martin Corporation for the research and development, integration and delivery of the first-ever and only, RF-based concealed weapons detection system. Completed product development, system integration and ramped-up to full-scale commercial manufacturing. The company publicly announced the forthcoming camera only one year after initial formation and funding with $100 million of booked contracts. Featured on all major news broadcast and print outlets, media and potential customers flocked to see, hear and learn about my new company and product.Delivered over $300m in take or pay sales contracts within 18 months of company inception, prior to product availability. An impressive list of government agencies tested or installed the product including the US Transportation Safety Administration, Department of Homeland Security, Air force Laboratories, US Mint and US Federal Reserve. High profile deployments included the United States Military for use in Middle East troop operations, as well as installation at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Developed—using technologies and architectures I developed at previous company, Triton Network Systems, Inc.—100 Mbps high-speed broadband Internet service to the end-user business market. Deployed only all-wireless, local-loop, distributed IP broadband MAN utilizing 38 GHz, Free Space Optics (laser) and 60 GHz frequencies. Created pay-in-advance, on-line, automated billing system that eliminated any bad-debt. Developed customer provisioned, plug-in-play installation that eliminated the need to “roll a truck” to install service, reducing staffing requirements over traditional service providers. Received the top industry award from SUPERCOMM for “Best Built Local Public Access Network.” Achieved un-heard of penetration rates and revenue, exceeding all other competitors by more than 400%. Maintained churn rates of less than .01%. Established a strong, multi-disciplined executive team and organization, growing to over 200 employees nationwide.

Assessed Lockheed Martin RF-based military technology and created a telecommunications product for the commercial market. Developed broadband fixed-wireless radio products in SONET and a distributed IP format, both delivering five-nines reliability with the consecutive point (Invisible Fiber/ wireless SONET) network architecture. Coordinated multiple engineering teams and subcontractors in different locations to develop the necessary RF and VLSI components. Oversaw all aspects of engineering including all R&D, project management, product management, and technical proposals. Product development resulted in 12 patents. Triton IPO $1.3B.

Established telecommunications software company with technical product and global market application issues. Generated a fresh approach and new product vision, leading the existing team of engineering, operations, product management, and documentation experts for a software-based telephony system. System provided concurrent cellular, PCS, wireless mobility, wire line, and wireless local loop service functionality. System architecture developed using object-oriented TCP/IP-based distributed software to allow seamless integration of dissimilar radio frequency (RF) and wire line telephony devices such as AMPS, ETACS, NMT, CDMA, and Class 5 lines. Newly focused and operational product achieved product sales to International target countries of China, India, and Southeast Asia leading to a successful company acquisition.

Responsible for the company’s PCS market and product approach. Selected PCS partner Omnipoint leading and building the joint venture team in technology and engineering. Company liaison and advisor to the Omnipoint CEO. Served as company PCS and cellular industry expert providing leadership internally as well as externally to PCS spectrum licensees. Knowledge includes all cordless technologies: CT2, CT2+, DECT, PHS, WACS/PACS, US Etiquette, and high tier technologies: GSM, CDMA, IS-54. Product Management projects included migration of cellular to full PCS using microcellular techniques, PBX technology and RF system planning. Responsible for leadership of the NT, TDMA, dual-mode cellular radio product management team. Products: NT analog radio portfolio, PA, ICP and cell site infrastructure. Development direction of all radio RF systems including sectorization, antenna systems, TDMA deployment, IS-54, CDPD, overlays, interference and performance, all TR45 radio standards direction, specifically Microcellular, Microsystem, TDMA, NAMPS, Omnipoint and Qualcomm CDMA.
