This includes working with Mexico-based team members to determine the most appropriate solution that meets technical, business, and regulatory requirements.

I lead technical organization responsible for delivering key mobile data products for AT&T. These included: iPhone/iPad, Wireless Emergency Alerts, Enhanced Push To Talk, Mobile Hot Spot, and Private Mobile Network Connectivity Solutions. The team was geographically dispersed.

This required development of teams, a business case for the expansion of technical roles, and the realization of several services for these two organizations. Amazon eReader was launched by the team, iPhone/iPad, Session-Based Pricing, launched resellers, etc. Continued focus on AT&T Quality Program with a need to reduce cycle times to yield more test spins. Achieved these goals.

Asked to drive improvement in the AT&T Quality program. Introduced improved practices, including automated testing, outsourced testing. Continued focus on improvement in Vendor Management activities, developed and drove architectural oversight of the merged AT&T Wireless/Cingular Wireless network. This drove improvement in operations and reduced cycle times for reviews and subsequent releases into the fundamental mobile network. Team size was 50+ with a budget of $10+M.

Merger with AT&T Wireless required restructuring of teams and was asked to take on significant lab consolidation activities and the launch of the UMTS network. I was also asked to re-invent the company's vendor management practice to improve the practices around wireless infrastructure development and the investments the company was making. In all cases, achieving merger synergy savings, developed best in class Vendor Management Office, reduced spending by $800M, launched UMTS on time.

Team and responsibilities moved to Atlanta, GA. Expanded portfolio to include an application development framework and launch of products on the emerging cellular data network (GPRS/EDGE). This included launched RIM Blackberry devices and services, an application development suite, and the creation of the Cingular Developer Program.Cingular Interactive/BellSouth Wireless DataJoined startup mentality division of Cingular Wireless to re-establish a product development team and run the professional services portion of this mobile data subsidiary. Our team delivered many Machine-to-Machine products on the Mobitex Narrowband data network. We also helped deliver Research in Motion (RIM) Blackberry solution.
