Brian Knight joined NASCUS in 1998 and has served as NASCUS' General Counsel since 2007. In 2015, Brian was named as the Executive Vice President in addition to his duties as General Counsel. As EVP & General Counsel Mr. Knight manages NASCUS' state and federal regulatory analysis, policy development, and compliance guidance. The General Counsel works closely with all NASCUS' departments, the CEO, and the board. Mr Knight also oversees NASCUS' legislative advocacy, professional development, and accreditation & state programs staff.Mr. Knight also serves as the staff liaison to NASCUS' Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee and the liaison to numerous state regulator working groups and task forces addressing critical policy issues, often in partnership with their federal counterparts. With an extensive background in both legislative and regulatory analyses and a comprehensive knowledge of the state and federal credit union regulatory system, Mr. Knight often represents NASCUS speaking at seminars, trade association meetings and conferences. Mr. Knight has testified before numerous state legislatures on behalf of state regulatory agencies and participated in industry strategic planning sessions.Mr. Knight is a graduate of William and Mary Law School and Hope College with degrees in history and political science. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar.
