ROC the Future Alliance is a community cradle to career collective impact organization focused on creating opportunities and success for every child in the city of Rochester, NY. We are a member of StriveTogether, a national network of communities that work and evolve together to advance equity for more than 14 million youth and counting. As an alliance of over 60 leading Rochester-area institutions, Roc the Future Alliance and our community partners promote alignment of community resources and ensure parents/family partners and youth are involved in the process at each step and every stage, to co-develop solutions to the systemic challenges that face the children of our community. We utilize a collective impact approach. No one individual or business can accomplish significant change by themselves. By working together, parents, youth, family partners, funders, providers, and our backbone staff, develop and work toward solutions. Our efforts are based on evidence-based practices and measured by ROC the Future Annual Report Cards. Collectively, we can and will create opportunities for success for every child, from cradle to career.

Led DBI projects entire staff through 3-part Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) series with the following objectives:#1: Provide DBI employees with added context and background on movementsand meanings of racial justice and equity, both historical and contemporary#2: Clarify the differences and distinctions between diversity, equity andinclusion and create space for employees to self-reflect and assess current strengths and needs around DBI’s efforts to promote DEI.#3: Equip DBI employees with additional language, skills and tools to continue toadvance and promote DEI internally within the company and to encourage further connections to existing efforts in the external environment.Post training, I continue to be available to the organization on a per diem basis to lead: 1.) Facilitation of group conversations including those related to book/podcast/movie discussions.2.) Check-ins with individual employees (coaching) to discuss topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion.

Adjunct faculty prepare and teach courses in the department, develop new educational materials, and assist with the assessment of student learning, as appropriate. Adjunct faculty report to the chairperson of the Anthropology, History and Political Science Department.Examples of Duties and Responsibilities-Demonstrates and maintains current subject knowledge-Teaches courses and evaluates student performance in Sociology as per guidelines set by the department and Monroe Community College-Teaches course(s)/section(s) each term, as outlined by the contract and as available-Prepares lesson plans and creates instructional materials and activities for student engagement-Prepares Course Information Sheet/Syllabus/Outlines in accordance with department and College guidelines-Establishes and maintains an engaging and supportive classroom environment-Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other records according with department and College guidelines and submits them in a timely manner-Assists department with student retention and completion initiatives including early alert-Develops innovative teaching pedagogy to facilitate learning-Incorporates high impact teaching practices into course design, as appropriate-Actively engages in pedagogical and academic discipline professional development and assessment activities-Demonstrates excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize workflow and multi-task-Develops and teaches online courses-Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by the department chair, as appropriate
