At VetNet RVA we are creating opportunities for Veterans through Networking by connecting them with local resources for Jobs, Benefits, Education, and Family Support. We are a program operating as a part of Veterans & Athletes United - a local Richmond, Va. 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to physically, mentally, and spiritually empowering all generations of Combat & Disabled Veterans. VetNet supports Local Service Members, Veterans, and Family Members by providing a welcome environment to network with local providers, nonprofits and resources. We believe that the most effective way to help Veterans in Richmond is to plug them into local connections directly, rather than, just giving them a phone number or email. It is through empowering our community of local veterans, veteran-owned businesses, local non-profits, and resource providers that we create successful transitions for veterans from the military back to civilian life.-Coordinated action committee for veteran resources fair, fundraiser, & documentary screening event; 61 attended raising over $5k for local veteran non-profit.-Led VetNet RVA mentors to help over 100 veterans in personal development, apply for benefits, seek medical services, and obtain education, computers, business attire, and employment.

Direct training and post-training support and job placement efforts of veterans with educational benefits (Chapter 30 and 33), and vocational rehabilitation (Chapter 31). Direct and track training and support requirements and placement of students receiving funding under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and Trade Act Authorization. Ensure assessment results and Individual Employment Plans are addressed by courseware and that students are prepared and have appropriate materials to complete course work. Provide liaison and assistance as necessary with Employment Counselors, Job Coaches, and Disabled Veteran Outreach Program specialists. Develop and complete placement reports and maintains database. Prepare marketing plan and deploy individual portions as approved by the general manager. Ensure Client Relations Module is continually updated. Provide follow-up activity to assist with job placement after training and collection of tuition and fees as agreed.

Physical Fitness for Veterans. Our clients help to create a welcome environment for veterans transitioning from military to civilian life by showing them the same support they have shown me through supporting my business and mission; to help bridge the gap for veterans transitioning from military to civilian life. That transition is tough and at VETFIT we make the workout tough so that life is easier.

- Managed PT daily, monthly, and yearly operations in home club to include:- staffing, financial performance, marketing, reporting and analysis, and regional communication.- Assess individual performance, provide feedback, and employee recognition; ensured continuous development of leadership team- Recruited, interviewed, and trained all new personal training staff- Conducted weekly Personal Training Department and Management meetings

-Conducted fitness consultations according to Gold's Gym protocols. -Provided safe exercise recommendations to clients based on established industry guidelines.-Explained the exercise program that was prepared for the client. Demonstrated and taught the exercises to the client and providing feedback on technique. -Abided by all personal trainer policies and Gold's Gym policies. -Attended mandatory and optional staff training classes. Being a responder in the event of an emergency. -Was able to use and demonstrate all the equipment to any member of the gym.

-Led central Virginia region in associate sales.-Promoted to store manager within 3 months of transferring to Richmond from Houston.

Had the honor to serve in the 82nd Airborne Division. 2 deployments; Operation Iraqi Freedom '06-'07, Hurricane Katrina Humanitarian Relief in New Orleans. Deployed: Acted as night shift Battalion Radio Operator for a 100+ square mile area of operations; Ensured clear communication for support assets to assist convoys traveling through our area; driver/radio operator for the operations officer in charge for combat missions; Installed mortar detection systems and surveillance equipment on forward operating bases throughout our area of operations; Served as the operations liaison for an Iraqi Army Military Training Team. Garrison: Recorded field data, prepared schematic sketches, and marked survey stations. Performed astronomic observation, measured azimuths, and angles to determine deviations for target, connection, and position area surveys with angular measuring equipment.
