Teaching: Brian's teaching experience is extensive, spanning across various institutions. Brian has served as an Assistant Professor of Media Studies at Hofstra University since 2019, with prior roles as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the same institution. Additionally, Brian has worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Communication Studies at both Suffolk and Nassau Community College. Brian has also held teaching positions as an Adjunct Instructor in Communication Arts at Farmingdale State College and as a Teaching Assistant at Temple University. Research: Brian's research has been presented at various conferences, including the Media Ecology Association Convention, the New York State Communication Association Conference, the Eastern Communication Association Conference, the Popular Culture Association's National Conference, and the Northeast Popular Culture Association Regional Conference. In addition, Brian has also participated in Hofstra's Teaching and Learning Conference as a panelist. Brian's research covers themes such as virtual learning environments, media literacy, ethical considerations in communication and media, and popular culture analysis. Service: Brian's past experiences have included active participation in various university committees and advisory roles. At Hofstra University, Brian serves on the University Senate and as faculty advisor to The Hofstra Chronicle - Hofstra's independent student newspaper. Beyond Hofstra, Brian serves on the New York State Communication Association's (NYSCA) executive council as the organization's executive secretary. In the past, Brian has also demonstrated a commitment to service by updating and maintaining Temple University's Media & Culture social media accounts and facilitating Suffolk County Community College's orientation leader public speaking workshop.
