Since I was in first grade I had a love for math. Math was always solvable, just a puzzle waiting to be figured out. Math had keys and equations, a sure-fire way to accomplish your task. Math is the same in every country, language, culture, and dialect. It's one of the only things that connects our world, and it never changes. It's a consistent, universal tool for each and every person on this planet, so it's no wonder why it's been my favorite subject since I was only 5 years old. Since then, I've taken the most advanced math classes the school's have had to offer. I've joined gifted programs and competed in the Mathletes. I've competed in math competitions for prizes and been tutored to further learn. The best part to me is that math is applicable in any and every career you could want to go into, which is why being a Mathematician is my career goal because choosing math is choosing a wide array of future possibilities. My first job was as a retail cashier at an ice cream shop called Ikes in Riverwoods, Provo. It gave me an opportunity to improve my social skills and be able to organize tasks in stressful or busy situations. I now work at Color Me Mine as a retailer and a salesperson for art supplies. This coming month, I will be beginning an internship at a company titled Sawtooth Software as a social media marketer and assistant salesperson. I'm an aspiring mathematician and statistician, as well as a 4.0 honor student with a desire to learn.
