We were then commissioned to implement the recommendations. While implementing the changes, the company was purchased by Hamworthy Engineering Ltd, who asked me to act as a consultant on their behalf and take a lead role on other tasks within the company. I continued with the company re-engineering activities and my tasks included improving change control to better manage design and production costs. Write ISO 9000 procedures (accreditation achieved Nov 93). Project manage and implement an MRPII system, including stock and product categorization, structures and variables. Integrate the different Computer Aided Design applications/operating systems and MRPII part listing system. Provide supervision, training and support for operating staff. I also took on the functional role of managing the operation and maintenance of the company IT systems.My final task was to complete the IT transfer to the holding company head office in Dorset.
