When my wife and I were planning our wedding and renovating our home, we couldn’t find gifts for our wedding, so we did what any DIY couple would do (right!?) and used extra wood from the project to make a few signs. These signs were a hit and pretty quickly, we found ourselves fulfilling requests out of our home. We have quickly grown from just the two of us to a team of over 50 talented artisans and craftsmen, handmaking products in our 50,000-square-foot production facility in coastal Massachusetts!Under my leadership Rustic Marlin has gained a national presence with retail partners throughout the USA, ranked #366 on the 2018 Inc Magazine’s 500 List of Fastest Growing Companies in America and #19 on the 2019 Boston Business Journal’s fastest-growing private companies in Massachusetts list. We have also been featured in national media outlets including Oprah's Favorites (twice!) and Good Morning America. In 2020, we pivoted entire operation with a Signs of Hope initiative featuring contactless 24/7 kiosks with payment on the honor system. This revolutionized the shopping experience, brought communities together, raised funds for those most impacted, brought our brand to a new level and, most importantly, kept our team employed.As a company founded out of love, we continue to pour love into the brand, our team, our customers, and one another. it's true that everything we make is handmade with love.

Reporting directly to the SVP of Sales, served as a key team member in accelerating revenue within the channel and achieving unprecedented growth metrics within the company. Developed action plans to overcome challenges that arose from such a rapid growth in sales.Personally recognized for achieving the highest increase in sales companywide in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 despite the challenge of selling in the most competitive US market. Hired and managed a team of 10 reps which included a thorough training and education process, ongoing supervision of their activities and leadership to help them grow within their roles. Developed an onboarding plan for the reps to implement and follow which proved to be successful when analyzing both revenue and employee retention statistics.Established effective relationships within each account from associate through management levels, providing comprehensive product training giving them the empowerment and motivation to sell more Natural Balance which led to a significant increase in revenue year over year.Spearheaded all events within territory (Westminster Dog Show, Bark in the Park) including the assessment of which efforts would drive the most awareness, onsite event coordination and post event analysis. Applied entrepreneurial spirit by consistently brainstorming and executing new ways to sell and promote products including sales contests and targeted sampling efforts.

Created a global high-end fishing retail business and wholesale distribution chain specializing in the design, manufacturing and sales of fishing tackle.Envisioned the concept, wrote a detailed business plan, secured proper financing and built a successful business model.Traveled throughout Asia to meet with potential manufacturers and obtain exclusive contracts for various products.Designed an ecommerce platform that increased online sales by 80% and opened the door to an international clientele.Increased sales with a limited marketing budget by creating a dealer network and large retail following, delivering outstanding customer service, developing a strategic advertising campaign, and offering direct email promotions.

Successfully managed inside and outside sales representatives for a manufacturer and distributor of stainless steel products with applications in the marine, industrial, architectural, and military markets. Achieved 30% growth annually despite an increase in competition and extreme metal pricing fluctuations.Analyzed industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer interests to identify new sales opportunities and markets.Utilized product knowledge, technical experience, and ability to understand customer needs to maximize sales at each level of business: Wholesale/Distributor-Retailer- Military/ Government.
