As Eyes and Ears continues through a period of rapid growth, and with a need to increase the company's resources, my role has shifted to not only optimising company operations, but also focusing on longer term strategy.A key part of making sure we continue to deliver is staying true to our values, with the physical, mental, and cultural wellbeing of all people being a major priority. Eyes and Ears is proud to be a member of DiversityWorks and Pride Pledge, and to be on the pathway to carbon neutrality. It is my role to ensure we are easily walking the talk in every facet of the business.It is vital that I stay apprised of all updates regarding the screen industry, business management in New Zealand, health and safety protocol, as well as the latest trends in video production. I am a current member of the New Zealand Advertising Producers Group (NZAPG) and a core contributor for government pitching and RFPs on behalf of the company. So far, we have been successful, getting on the All-of-Government panel and as a preferred supplier for Video Production for the Ministry for the Environment.My role is key to making sure Eyes and Ears continues to deliver exceptional video production services.

As the Producer, it was my job to make sure everybody had what they needed, where they needed it, and before they even knew it was needed! This included our team at mission control, our freelance crew, and our clients. This also involved daily problem solving and logistics-planning.With Eyes and Ears being a full-service production house, I loved getting to be by our client's side from the very beginning creative stages of brainstorming an idea, through to being on set for the shoot, right through to post-production and sending the finished video.

Since completing my training at Unitec, I have been employed across a number of different projects as a live theatre producer and production assistant for Te Pou Theatre, Te Rehia Theatre Company and my own company, Dusty Room Productions.Most recently, Dusty Room Productions took out the BEST THEATRE award at the Auckland Fringe Festival 2020 with the production "Alone".

Having been a whānau member at Te Pou Theatre since it's inception in 2015, I quickly found myself as one of the core team, running or assisting with a number of programmes, festivals, workshops and events.In February 2016, I came on board in an official capacity as the company's administrator and managing the day to day operations. I also worked as the venue manager, making sure that everything was in place for events and that our staff, audience and the group performing.I was a key part of the growth and evolution of the organisation as we: - Navigated the process of becoming a charitable trust- Developed brand new business model based around Te Ao Māori principles which are now being shared in creative practices around Tāmaki Makaurau.- Applied for and successfully became a Toi Uru Kahikatea investment client with Creative New Zealand.A highlight of my time at Te Pou was the establishment of the Rangatahi Season - a programme dedicated to the support of emerging artists as they produce seasons of work. As part of the Te Pou team, I coordinated this season in 2016 and 2018 and am thrilled to see it still flourishing in 2019!I learned a huge amount in my time at Te Pou, both in terms of picking up skills as a Producer and Storyteller, but also about my values and looking after people, which are still relevant to my current work.

Following my training at UCOL and Unitec, I have appeared in a number of live theatre productions, both at theatre's around New Zealand as well as hundreds of local venues and schools around the North Island.A highlight was being a part of Te Rēhia Theatre Company's "Ruia Te Kākano" education tour from 2015-2017, performing in te reo Māori to thousands of children at primary schools and kura kaupapa.
