Profile bio

About Bridget Kerr

Dedicated museum professional with experience in curation, public programming, research, writing, and editing. Having recently completed my Master's degree in Fashion and Textile Studies with a focus on Curatorial practices, I am eager to join an organization where I can contribute my curatorial and research capabilities. My qualifying paper, entitled "Uncovering the Life and Work of American Fashion Designer Marguery Bolhagen (1920-2021)," is available for reading on ProQuest and here on my LinkedIn profile. This work of fashion historical research brings to light a designer whose works are kept in museum collections but who was otherwise forgotten by history. I want to bring more understanding to the public on the worthiness of fashion and textiles in a museum setting. These pieces of history can tell so many stories, and are just as worthy of a place in the gallery as a painting or a sculpture. In my museum work, I am keen to bring awareness and interest in fashion and textiles to all through thoughtful curation, rigorous research, and exciting public programming.

Listed skills include Sewing, Theatre, Performing Arts, Arts Administration, and 12 others.
