Industrial Officer
Current- Representing academic and professional staff during the University of Adelaide/University of South Australia Merger and the creation of the new 'Adelaide University'- Managing case load of both individual and collective industrial matters- Raising claims and disputes for a wide range of industrial issues including underpayments, pecuniary penalty matters, unfair dismissals, workplace discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment and general protections.- Representation and advocacy at a workplace level, as well as at employment Courts and Tribunals including the Fair Work Commission and South Australian Employment Tribunal including conciliations, arbitrations and hearings.- Providing written and verbal advice to members on a range of industrial/legal issues under Higher Education Enterprise Agreements and Awards and other Industrial instruments and legislation- Developing policy positions and responses to significant industrial issues impacting members at University of Adelaide, University of South Australia and Flinders University- Participation in enterprise bargaining as a bargaining representative- Liaison with company officials at all levels to resolve complex issues and disputes including People and Culture, and other senior Academic and Professional leaders
