I worked with local schools and community groups to raise awareness and increase understanding of the coral reef ecosystem, through presentations and community events. Whale sharks were of specific concern. I planned and orchestrated community information sessions regarding proposed marine protected areas (MPA's), school presentations, and community murals in remote villages.

I taught academically integrated presentations to schools throughout the Vancouver area, for grades 3 through 12. Programs were designed to fit teachers' curricular needs, while emphasizing the importance of protected wild spaces.

I trained, coordinated, supervised, and assisted 6 naturalist interpreters in Banff National Park during the summers of 2002 and 2003. My interpreters and I presented formal and impromptu natural history talks and presentation to Parks Canada visitors throughout the Bow Valley and Icefields Parkway corridors.
