My career in corrections began 8/28/2000, with the Indiana Department of Correction. During the 7.5 years of employment, I was able to work with inmates of every level, including adults/juveniles, males/females as well as sex/violent/status offenders. In May 0f 2008, I had the privilege and honor of being the first and only Director or Community Corrections in Hendricks County. Along with my team of new employees, we began a work release program that is still functioning and growing until present day. What began as a County program is now a part of Community Corrections and receives over $800,000 in grant funding of which I am solely responsible for monitoring along with the remaining budget for the facility.In my spare time I am or have been on different Boards in the Community, including Mental Health of America, Purdue Extension, Hendricks County Substance Abuse Task Force and Indiana Association of Community Corrections Act Counties . I am a part of the food pantry ministry with New Life Worship Center. As a current registry member for Bone Marrow Transplant, a regular blood donor, it would only make sense that I be an organ and tissue donor. In the past 18 years of professional experience I have done consulting, training, management, program creation, employment recruiting and public speaking. I believe every day is a chance to learn something new and increase my skill set.
