The Crescendo Trust of Aotearoa is a charitable trust working with Aotearoa's rangatahi to support them into positive pathways. Crescendo is a music production and recording studio based in Auckland with a focus on giving back to our communities. We specialise in sound design services for local and international productions – from audiobooks, podcasts, film & television to gaming, advertising and media. More importantly, we are a social enterprise. This means all of the profit from our work goes back into mentoring programmes for young people aged 12-24. Crescendo Te Urunga (social impact hub) is a space for young people to express themselves, upskill in audio engineering and join a creative whanau. Crescendo was created by Blindspott and City of Souls guitarist Marcus Powell in 2012, and gives mentees the opportunity to work alongside music industry professionals with programmes set to nurture, empower and give lifelong skills through mentoring, personal development and training in music, film, events, media and communications. To date, Crescendo has worked with more than 3,500 young people across seven locations throughout Auckland to support them into further education, training, and employment.
