Prune alternate blocks using Kniffen, Cane, Spur and Pendlebogen techniques. Track annual cane weights to monitor vine balance. Monitor weekly pest and disease issues. Schedule pesticide and herbicide applications for the 35-acre Martini farm. Coordinate annual sprayer calibration and oversee drift mitigation. Handle canopy management, including shoot positioning, leaf removal and hedging. Maintain annual crop inventory program. Maintain and repair all vineyard equipment.Core responsibilities:• Pesticide application. Apply pesticides in adherence to NY Sustainability program guidelines. Licensed New York Certified Pesticide Applicator.• Winemaking. During harvest season, transition to wine production, including fruit processing, winery sanitation, blending trials, bottling and warehousing for multiple blends. • Product sales. Market various wine products in the “Green Markets” of New York City and various restaurants and resellers. Consistently market and sell in the NYC area by educating buyers, promoting products effectively and developing relationships.

Sell wine at the retail level to walk-in customers. Educate customers on the fine points of products sold, make recommendations for pairings and advise customers on best choices. Demonstrate expertise on grape varieties and international wine growing regions. Conduct wine tastings in-store to drive new sales and repeat business.
