I have worked in the capacity of an educator and academic dean at a STEM academy in Carrolton Texas since 2017. I specialize in cross-curricular project-based learning under the guidelines of the New Tech Network. I have taught Social Studies for over a decade and I am now also certified heavily involved in Career and Technology Education. As a teacher, I have been implementing and developing instruction for Psychology, Sociology, Practicum in STEM, as well as several other subjects. As Academic Dean, I conducted parent meetings, checked grades, monitored attendance, and developed strategies for students’ academic success for over 400 students. In my role as Director, I provided support to project facilitators, acted as a liaison between the staff and the New Tech Network, developed compliance plans to meet state requirements, headed recruitment to the academy, tracked volunteer hours, attended community events, conducted tours, managed the STEM budget, and established partnerships with higher education institutions as well as industry partners. Under my supervision and guidance, students use project-based learning to address real-world problems and interact with local community partners to improve themselves and society.
