Veterinary Technician Ii
- Administering treatments to animals admitted to the Texas A&M Small Animal Hospital ICU.- Caring for and monitoring critical patients, running emergency codes alongside faculty veterinarians, residents, and 4th year professional veterinary students.- Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures by preparing surgical instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing support as needed.- Collecting blood samples from jugular, cephalic, dorsal pedal, medial saphenous, and lateral saphenous veins for diagnostics.- Administering and monitoring VF and CR blood transfusions and plasma transfusions.- Providing compassionate and supportive care to patients and their owners during challenging and emotional situations.- Training new veterinary technicians by providing guidance and sharing knowledge of best practices in patient care and treatment.
