Welcome to my profile page. I am a leadership coach and photographer. Well, those are the labels I sometimes use to describe myself. Are Identities fixed in time or do we bring a past self along too? Do I say that I spent two decades as a civil engineering consultant? I was also one of a tiny number of women who worked underground on the Channel Tunnel? There was no social media and the stories of that padt time reside in a box of memorabilia in my loft rather than as posts on my timeline. Right now I am unsure what label to use to describe myself and that feels rather liberating to wonder if I stand on the precipice of something expansive or maybe a time of exploration. How do you describe yourself - what travels with you and what is hidden? Coaching provides a supportive and non-judgemental space in which to explore assumptions and ideas around leadership. Social constructs of gender, racial identity and class can be viewed and deconstructed before thinking about how to take them forward in the future. What shapes and stories will you pack on the next leg of your journey? Visual image can play a part in the creation of identity in many forms; personal, institutional and societal. Combined with myth and storytelling leaders who are isolated and depicted as heroic may emerge. How can we think about leadership that liberates and is distributed throughout society to create a fairer and more equal society?
