Currently, as a Program Officer at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), she plays a crucial role in originating, structuring, and underwriting financing requests for projects that foster equitable outcomes in Rural America. Brittany's expertise extends to providing creative capital solutions and technical assistance for rural development projects, including small businesses, economic development programs, disaster solutions, affordable housing, and community facilities.With her blend of underwriting experience, community development expertise, and a genuine commitment to affordable housing, Brittany Mitchell brings a unique perspective to community development. Her efforts have made a positive impact on under-served communities, contributing to their development and fostering equitable outcomes.In addition to her professional accomplishments, Brittany participated in the Project Real Estate Associate Program (REAP) as a Spring 2023 Fellow, further advancing her knowledge and career in commercial real estate (CRE). Through REAP, she gained essential tools, knowledge, and networking opportunities, preparing her for the broad range of challenges faced while analyzing commercial real estate projects.Brittany holds a B.S. in Actuarial & Mathematical Sciences and actively engages in volunteer work, including supporting transitional shelters and participating in Habitat for Humanity builds. She is an active member of professional associations such as the National Housing Coalition's Emerging Leader in Affordable Housing and the Women's Affordable Housing Network.
