I teach courses in art history, including introductory surveys and courses focused on topics such as African and African-American art.

As gallery director, I supervised gallery staff of 5-20 assistants and interns. I also managed day-to-day gallery operations, including scheduling, timesheets, budget, communications. I planned and executed 6-8 exhibitions per year, handling all communications and logistics. And I managed the University’s Permanent Collection of Art, including caring for art, managing donations, loans, and records. I also taught courses in Art History and Museum & Gallery Practices.

I contribute to the life of the Institute by helping to organize and facilitate symposia, reading groups, and a film series. I pursue my own scholarship, extending from my doctoral research, to complete articles and an online exhibition. Finally, I will teach a course on contemporary African art--broadly defined--for the Art and Art History Department during the spring 2017 semester.

I completed an object-based research project in the Smithsonian collections and archives, focusing on the life, work, and collecting of the scholar Labelle Prussin.

I work as a graduate assistant to Dr. Diane Pelrine, the Raymond and Laura Wielgus Curator of the Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas.

I assisted Maria Grosz-Ngate, Associate Director, in developing and editing content for the IUB African Studies Program annual newsletter, 2014.
