Brittany an educator focused on using her experience, and background in working with Title 1 schools to advance the growth and foster the ability of all those around her. She has a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with Teacher Education option. She is constantly looking for new avenues to balance the needs and desires of students while installing best practices that are rooted with data and research. She is a hard working individual who wants to maximize the potential of other staff members who want to do the same. Coaching, encouraging, and guiding these individuals to their maximum potential so they too can turn around and do the same. She has worked in Arlington Virginia for 8 years, demonstrating highly effective skills in professionalism, student academic progress, learning environment, collaboration with a team and in a co-teaching model, technology, and more. She has also held multiple leadership roles including Instructional Lead Teacher, Mentorship, Summer School Administrative Intern, math lead teacher, and social studies lead teacher. She is confident that her collaborative teaching experience and leadership will be successfully used in any position, and will be able to continue to evolve her own leadership skills.In her current position she has been able to create and maintain high academic rigor and student interest for all subject areas. Throughout her career and in her current position, she has had wonderful opportunities to work with a diverse group of students, including students with a variety of disabilities or exceptional needs, those with English as their second language, students learning at grade level, and many who were gifted/young scholars. She also continually worked collaboratively with teachers in the same grade level, and using a co-teaching model with a special education teacher. Her strong interest in finding ways to show cross curricular connections, such as in using reading and math during and with science can be applied to finding connections and paths forward for colleagues that she mentors and coaches as well.
