Serve as the liaison among Vista Academy, New York City Department of Youth and Community Development, school-age participants, and their parents; Assist with the day-to-day supervision and operation of the program and the articulation of daytime educational programs; Work to develop educational, recreational, and guidance activities to be implemented in order to meet the mandates of the program; Maintain the online database for DYCD; Supervise Saturday programs; Present for Professional Development workshops; Designate assignments for staff; Attend monthly DYCD and advisory board meetings; Promote the program by attending school and/or University meetings, open houses, and functions in and outside the community; Assist with all report writing for funding sources, Vista Academy, and St. John’s University.

Manage budget by making program purchases, processing staff payroll, and handling expense reports; Market the program through a variety of community outreach efforts targeting undocumented immigrants and low-income adult learners; Act as a liaison between Program Director and course instructors to ensure program logistics run smoothly; Manage student records and program outcomes through DYCD online data system; Plan classes, workshops and events for students by scheduling sessions and securing classrooms; Conduct outreach and coordinate with partnering organizations to identify various resources for DACA recipients.

Conducted research on Latin American and the Caribbean for Department Chair’s publications and speaking engagements; Planned and hosted events such as multidisciplinary conferences on immigration issues for ambassadors and visiting dignitaries; Coordinated and taught English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to Queens, NY residents
