Brittany provides Compliance and Privacy program support to management across Providence Health & Services and its Affiliates including: hospitals, physician clinics, skilled nursing facilities, health plan, medical foundations, educational institutions, and in-home services. To do this she conducts investigations, analyzes data, and assists with risk mitigation. She also participates in policy review and develops/delivers staff & physician education.

I provide guidance and support in the implementation of Kadlec's compliance program. In keeping the with the elements delineated in the US Federal Sentencing guidelines I develop, maintain, revise and enforce policies and procedures including compliance, privacy, and data security policies. I oversee the compliance hotline and corresponding case management system for both the acute care setting and ambulatory care setting (over 3500 employees). In my position, I collaborate with other departments (e.g. Risk Management, HIM, HR, Legal Affairs, etc.) to investigate and resolve compliance issues. I collaborate with and report to the hospital Executive Team and Governance Board, as well as Providence St. Joseph Health System Risk Integrity Services. Additionally, I work with the Education Department and others to develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees, managers and volunteers.

TPM is the only certified self-funded Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) in the state of Washington, it is both a trust and a bona fide association. I analyze, interpret, and apply both state and federal statute to the operations of the trust and association. I work with various federal statutes such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). TPM is licensed in five states, so I also help members comply with Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming insurance law.
