Consult with Emory researchers on a longitudinal study exploring the effects of prenatal exposure to psychiatric medications and pre- and postnatal exposure to maternal psychopathology; train graduate students in the administration of the SCID.

Taught doctoral level courses in Mercer's Clinical Psychology department, including Cognitive Assessment, Anxiety and Mood Disorders, Empirically Based Assessment and Intervention, Consultation and Supervision, Forensic Psychology, History and Systems of Psychology, and Practicum Seminar. Served as Chairperson of the Admissions Committee organizing department admissions events and interviews, as well as Chairperson of the Student Affairs Committee coordinating the department's Brown Bag lunch series wherein community leaders and providers are invited to speak to the department's students and faculty. Coordinated graduate assistantships and allocation of Federal Work Study funding. Supervised students' research toward completion of their dissertation projects. Collaborated on research with colleagues in Clinical Psychology and Public Health.

Directed and managed clinical practicum/internship program in which graduate students were provided training opportunities within various clinics and hospitals in the Greater Honolulu area. Developed training program by forging relationships between Hawaii Pacific University's Masters in Mental Health Counseling Program and local mental healthcare facilities. Taught graduate-level courses in Psychotherapeutic Interventions and Clinical Supervision to Masters-level students in Mental Health Counseling.

Provided CBT- and psychodynamically- oriented treatments to adults suffering from moderate to severe mental illnesses, including Major Depressive Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Bipolar Disorder, psychotic disorders, and other illnesses. Worked on a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and students to design and maximize treatment plans for a diverse patient population. Conducted neuropsychological and psychiatric/diagnostic assessments of adolescents and adults to identify their cognitive, social, emotional, and adaptive strengths and weaknesses, as well as the causes of these strengths and weaknesses (e.g., cognitive deficits, head trauma, dementia, psychological disorders). Engaged in weekly supervision and didactics in an effort to integrate psychological theory and practice.

Constructed and managed an empirical study of the intergenerational effects of trauma on at-risk offspring using REDCap, a secure online data management program. Secured research funding from Emory for this project. Contributed to development, data collection, and data analysis involved in several empirical studies (Research Study of Sleep and Neural Activity, Research Study of Neurodevelopmental Outcomes Following Prenatal Exposure to Atypical Antipsychotics; Research Study of Emotional Reactivity of Children with Severe Conduct Disorder). Conducted fMRI scans on children between the ages of 7 and 12. Used magnetic resonance spectroscopy to acquire information regarding neural differences in children. Administered N-back, go-no-go, and memory tasks via e-prime computer software. Used zeo sleep monitor and actigraph monitor to measure children’s sleep patterns and sleep quality over one week. Obtained saliva samples for oxytocin analysis. Conducted normed assessments of cognitive, social, emotional, and executive functioning of at-risk children, as well as semi-structured clinical interviews assessing current and prior psychological functioning of mothers in our sample. Collaborated with colleagues in the Department of Psychiatry on a large-scale study examining the effects of psychotropic medications taken during pregnancy on child development. Collaborated with faculty on a study exploring the relationships among maternal psychopathic traits, parenting, and child psychopathic traits. Reported research findings in several manuscripts and at several professional conferences (e.g., American Psychology-Law Society Conference in Puerto Rico).

Provided trauma-focused treatment to veterans suffering from PTSD or trauma-related symptoms resulting from military sexual trauma or combat exposure. Designed treatment plans on an interdisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers based on dynamic case conceptualizations. Wrote psychological reports summarizing patients' backgrounds, clinical presentations, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

Assisted professors of Human Development, Professional Teaching in the Classroom, and Foundations and Processes of Learning courses with curricula design, lectures, discussion groups, and online discussion forums. Provided writing assistance to undergraduate students. Organized educational, social, and recreational programs aimed at fostering cross-cultural exchange and improving English ability among native Cantonese speakers. Made biannual visits to rural areas of China to teach students English grammar and writing skills.

Assisted with data collection for a summer ADHD treatment program for children. Created and maintained a system for data management in Excel for child behavior frequencies. Collected weekly video recordings of child peer interactions to study the influence of these peer relationships on both prosocial and maladaptive behaviors.

Assisted in the experimental design, development, planning, and implementation of an Emotional Literacy program conducted in England and New York. Helped in managing data from both locations. Designed a preventative model applying Emotional Literacy concepts to maladaptive behaviors in at-risk adolescent populations as a senior thesis project.
