Position is responsible for providing leadership and overall community outreach vision, for the Mayor’s Neighborhood Advocates and the Mayor’s Action Center. Works in collaboration with City departments and outside agencies to provide excellent links between the community and the City of Indianapolis. Establishes strong working relationships with elected and appointed officials and their staff to facilitate communication and coordination. The work performed in this position has a significant impact on public perception and understanding of programs and functions and the City’s ability to respond to problems and issues of public concern. Position reports to the Deputy Mayor - Neighborhood Engagement. A high level of independent judgment is required for this position. This position must represent the Administration at neighborhood groups, office-holders, and interact with all levels of stakeholders. This position will interact directly with the Mayor and Mayor's staff frequently. Position requires the knowledge of established policies and procedures, as well as strong communications skills and the ability to work independently with little oversight.

Who we are:Westside Community Development Corporation (WCDC) is a non-profit community development organization with its focus target area centering around four neighborhoods on the near west side just west of the IUPUI campus.
