Since graduating college, I have managed to garner a wide array of both hard & soft skills. Audio Production, Video Production, Video/Audio Editing, Writing, Producing & much more. With each of those skillsets I also developed important skills like communication, leadership, both time & project management, empathy, sympathy & representation. I began my career in radio broadcasting, but my education consisted of both Video/Audio Production & Marketing. I have hosted radio shows, programmed radio stations, managed social media page, as well as been apart of many promotion campaigns to further grow audiences. After radio I worked briefly outside of the media industry as a whole. I tried my hand at logistics. Though it wasn't for me, I did manage to develop more key skills that would make me a better person overall. Skills like accounting, negotiation, problem solving & handling objection/rejection. Those skills would later help me as I transitioned back into my background work. Media. I went back to work at a local news station working as a production assistant, later transitioning to becoming a morning news producer. That is where I would find myself over the course of several years and several shows. Being a producer taught me not only how to manage time efficiently, but how to lead a team of people in a real time, live, serious subject situations. It also taught me effective planning as that was my day to day. The many hats I wore as a producer helped me to further progress many of the abilities I had come to know up to that point. Now that I am a commercial producer, I have taken those skills and have made leaps and bounds of progress in those, as well as new ones. Working interdepartmentally as well as with clients has really helped with my communication skills. My creative side has truly blossomed in this industry as I work with creating ads for businesses & help tell stories in communities throughout the area through spoken word and visuals. My post production skills have really flourished as I continue to work with industry standards within the Adobe Creative Suite to help deliver a quality product the client loves. Now I am several years in with an immense amount of experience in many aspects of production, both live & recorded. I will continue to develop the skills I have acquired, as well as look to acquire even more skills as more opportunities present themselves.
