Workplace Strategy Director
CurrentI lead the “smart workplace” strategy for Macquarie’s new global headquarters at 1 Elizabeth. My concept for the smart workplace is one that learns, adapts and evolves, is informed by data and is driven by the needs of our people. It uses technology and data to connect our people with each other and with key workplace amenities such as desks, lockers and meeting rooms. AchievementsUsing human centred design, I developed dynamic “team zones” within our white-labelled desk booking system. This approach facilitates team collaboration and space optimisation by helping staff book a desk alongside their team members on the days they are in office. This approach has optimised our real estate assets to achieve a reduced desk to headcount ratio, whilst solving for team proximity and cohesion. I created reporting that provides real-time visualisation of desk bookings and occupancy, empowering our businesses to easily modify the way they use space. I am currently also building a similar dashboard that will help optimise our smart locker mix and meeting room utilisation.
