I am an experienced development professional with expertise in Gender Equality and feminist approaches, establishing cross-cultural partnerships and with special focus on linking into Pacific and Faith-based CSOs, and progressing decolonial learning, understanding and development approaches by learning from sector leaders from within the Majority World.I have 30 years working experience spanning careers in the Education and International Development sectors. Over recent years, in the roles of Associate Director and Senior Program Manager, I have engaged in strategic leadership for organisations in partnerships, development programming and team development to deliver to Strategic Plans. Within these roles I have worked to build positive team culture and guided teams in thinking through feminist and Decolonial approaches to partnership and programming, while overseeing teams managing development portfolios and meeting grant agreement requirements. This has included improvements in systems and technical resourcing in meeting DFAT accreditation standards and striving for best practice. During my earlier career in the International Development Sector, I have worked with Australian organisations in challenging traditional colonialist activities in international engagement and opening understandings of more mutual, empowering approaches. I have developed international partnerships with Pacific women’s networks, founded on learning; co-designed, supported and accessed funding for locally-led, gender-equality movement programming across six Pacific nations and supported the work of Pacific Churches in challenging patriarchal structures, as led by the Women’s Fellowship networks. I have worked with Pacific Church networks to lead responses and adaptive mitigation to the impacts of Climate Change. I have facilitated locally-led gender analysis, adaptive monitoring and management and impact evaluation. I have shared learning into the sector through conference presentations including the Australasian Aid Conference, Status of the Pacific Conference, ACFID conference. Within my early 15 year teaching career, I facilitating teaching and learning across the sciences, and mentored young teachers into the professions. I supported students to learn, understand and engage in issues of social justice such as Climate Change, international poverty injustice and gender inequality. During my tenure in the education sector, I supported students in Pacific Cross Cultural learning experiences focused on immersive cultural learning to challenge their worldviews.
